Woman in wheelchair killed in hit-and-run, DC police say

WASHINGTON  — Over the weekend in D.C., a woman in a wheelchair was hit and killed by a car that police say drove away.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that around 5:45 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10, the woman was crossing the intersection of 8th Street and Florida Avenue NW. Police said she was not in a designated crosswalk

Meanwhile, a black sedan was driving east along Florida Avenue NW. The car hit the woman before driving away.

Responders took the woman, 40-year-old Brianna Anderson, to the hospital, where she died.
