It is most commonly a combination of green peppers and spicy beef, the spicy beef is usually ground, although some restaurants and pizzerias tend to use diced beef. According to news website The Post.ie, the Sloppy Giuseppe caused the average customer to spend an extra 11% in Pizza Express’s Irish outlets. Variations Variations of the recipe are slight, it is often small pizzerias that differ from the established ground beef and green pepper combination, with some pizzerias in England using local cheeses in substitute for the more traditional mozzarella cheese, the same can be said for Italian pizzerias using local buffalos to produce the mozzarella.
